Rhein-Neckar Löwen - HSG Wetzlar | 11/26/2023
Still unbeaten in the European League, with three defeats in the last four games in the LIQUI MOLY HBL - that's the current picture for the Rhein-Neckar Löwen. The cup winners have now slipped to seventh place with 13:13 points. Things are different for HSG Wetzlar, who have won their last two games in Eisenach and against VfL Gummersbach and, with 11:15 points in twelfth place, now have a certain cushion over the relegation zone.

HBW Balingen-Weilstetten - SC Magdeburg | 11/26/2023
Last against first, promoted team against Champions League winners and club world champions - the starting position could not be more different. Balingen has not won a game since September 5, has one point in ten games and is in last place with 5:21 points. If you take the HBL, Champions League and Club World Cup together, SCM have won all of their last 18 games, have been unbeaten in the league since the third matchday and have only conceded one point since then - the reward is the lead in the table with 21:3 points, level with the Foxes.

VfL Eintracht Hagen - EHV Aue | 12/08/2023

Eintracht have won all of their last four home games, also defeating the high-caliber teams from Lübbecke, Minden and Hamm. EHV Aue - SG BBM Bietigheim | 12/04/2023
Aue was beaten 27:29 in Dessau in the basement duel and Central German derby on Wednesday evening. Since then, the gap to the safety zone is already five points. Bietigheim, on the other hand, celebrated a 28:14 victory over newly promoted Vinnhorst in their first game this week. Coach Iker Romero's team has thus found its way back to winning ways after the defeat in Lübbecke and should travel to EHV with plenty of self-confidence.

GWD Minden - Eulen Ludwigshafen | 12/03/2023
Bundesliga relegated team Minden is still in crisis. GWD has lost all of its last five games. On Wednesday evening, the team led by U21 world champion Florian Krantzmann was beaten 22:27 in Coburg. In fourteenth place in the table, Minden is just two points clear of the first relegation place. Ludwigshafen Owls, on the other hand, are on the up. Coach Johannes Wohlrab's team has won four of its last five games. During the week, the Owls defeated HC Elbflorenz 31:29 in their own arena and showed strong comeback qualities in the process.

TuS Vinnhorst - TV Großwallstadt | 12/03/2023
After two hugely important victories in the relegation battle against Aue and Dessau, promoted Vinnhorst suffered a clear 14:28 defeat in Bietigheim on Wednesday. The TuS attack was too harmless against the second-placed team in the table and also repeatedly failed to score against SG goalkeeper Fredrik Genz. The visitors from Großwallstadt lost their home game against league leaders Potsdam on Thursday evening by 30:36. However, the TVG was able to keep the game evenly poised against the current league leaders, at least in the first half. Grosswallstadt had previously won three games in a row and can definitely be satisfied with eighth place in the table.

Matchday 15
TuSEM Essen - VfL Eintracht Hagen | 12/03/2023
NRW derby in Essen: The team in eleventh place in the table with 13 points welcomes the team in ninth place with 14 points. Whereas Essen was beaten 25:30 in Nordhorn on Wednesday evening, VfL celebrated an impressive 38:30 home win against promotion hopefuls Lübbecke in front of its home crowd. Hagen's attacking engine ran particularly hot in the second half and the team of Head Coach Stefan Neff scored a staggering 23 goals. After 14 matchdays in the 2nd German Handball League, the visitors have the second-best attack in the league. The home side, on the other hand, still have the best defense in the league.

HC Elbflorenz 2006 - HSG Nordhorn-Lingen | 12/03/2023
In the Ballsport Arena in Dresden, the seventh-placed team in the table welcomes the fifth-placed team. Whereas Nordhorn beat Essen 30:25 on home court on Wednesday evening, Elbflorenz lost narrowly 29:31 at Eulen Ludwigshafen. Despite the defeat during the week, the home side's form has been on a constant upward trend for weeks. The HC feels particularly comfortable in front of its own fans. It has won all of its last four home games in commanding fashion. Only relegated Bundesliga side Minden has been able to snatch points from Dresden this season.

1. VfL Potsdam - TSV Bayer Dormagen | 12/03/2023
The Adler from Potsdam continue to fly high. Head Coach Bob Hanning's team won 36:30 in Grosswallstadt on Thursday evening and impressively leapt back to the top of the table with its seventh win in a row. Hanning's charges have gone an incredible eleven games without defeat, winning ten of those eleven encounters. The prospects for the visitors from Dormagen are completely different. TSV lost their home game against Hüttenberg by a clear 31:38 on Wednesday and still only have nine points to show for their efforts. Fifteenth in the table, Dormagen's cushion to the first relegation place is just two points.

TuS N-Lübbecke - VfL Lübeck-Schwartau | 12/02/2023
After the spectacular top-of-the-table win against Bietigheim last weekend, the mood at TuS was dampened on Wednesday evening. Haaß's players lost 30:38 in Hagen and suffered their fifth defeat of the season. The players of VfL Lübeck-Schwartau also went winless in their first game of the English week. In front of a home crowd, the team in thirteenth place in the table was beaten 30:34 by the top team from Hamm. VfL has now gone five games without a win and has collected just one point in that time.

TV 05/07 Hüttenberg - ASV Hamm-Westfalen | 12/02/2023
Both teams got their English week off to a successful start on Wednesday. While Hüttenberg clearly prevailed 38:31 in Dormagen, Hamm won 34:30 away in Lübeck. With twelve points to its name, TVH is currently twelfth in the table and has been able to gain some breathing space towards the bottom of the table in recent weeks. This was mainly due to strong performances at home. Coach Stefan Kneer's team has not lost at home in three games. The visitors from Hamm are in third place with 22 points and are thus firmly established in the top flight of the 2nd HBL after 14 matchdays. ASV recently won three games in a row and proved its crunch-time qualities on several occasions.

Matchday 15
TV Großwallstadt - 1. VfL Potsdam | 11/30/2023
TV Großwallstadt would like to extend its current winning streak of three victories. In seventh place in the table with 16 points, the club from Lower Franconia can certainly be satisfied with its points haul to date. A large part of this is due to the six home wins to date, which have turned TVG into a real home power. It is the team of the moment: ten games unbeaten, with Max Beneke the league's top scorer in the squad and, since last Sunday, also top of the table in the 2nd HBL - things could hardly be better for 1. VfL Potsdam.

Matchday 14
VfL Lübeck-Schwartau - ASV Hamm-Westfalen | 11/29/2023
It is the second game in four days against one of the top three teams in the league: After the narrow 27:28 defeat against Potsdam, Lübeck, which is twelfth in the table, now awaits the top team from Westphalia. While ASV remains unbeaten in front of its home crowd thanks to the heart-stopping 28:27 victory over Dormagen, it has recently suffered a weak spell away from home: a defeat in Bietigheim, a clear 26:41 loss against Hagen and a narrow defeat at Eulen Ludwigshafen.

Matchday 14
HSG Nordhorn-Lingen - TuSEM Essen | 11/29/2023
Nordhorn can look back on an unfortunate few weeks. It suffered two narrow defeats against the top teams from Hamm and Potsdam, most recently a draw against Hüttenberg. Now the team in eighth place wants to score again. After five games without a win, neighboring Essen managed to break the deadlock last weekend: With the win against Ludwigshafen, TuSEM was able to put itself on an even points ratio and is now in ninth place. Coach Michael Hegemann knows: "The win was of course important, also for the boys' self-confidence. We've lacked a bit of ease in the last few games, hopefully that will come back now"

SG BBM Bietigheim - TuS Vinnhorst | 11/29/2023

Both teams experienced a dramatic end to their games last weekend. Yet while Dormagen lost 27:28 at ASV Hamm at the last second, Hüttenberg came from three goals down to win 32:32 at home against HSG Nordhorn. The club from Central Hesse is now one point ahead of the Rhinelanders. The game could therefore point the way ahead for both teams: Both Hüttenberg in thirteenth and Dormagen in fifteenth could distance themselves from each other and from the relegation places.

Matchday 14
HSC 2000 Coburg - GWD Minden | 11/29/2023
HSC are currently in particularly good form: Five wins in the last five games have catapulted the club from Franconia into fifth place in the table. A home win could even see them leap up to fourth place if the competition falters. Minden's downward spiral, on the other hand, shows no sign of ending. The East Westphalians have now been waiting over a month for a point and are now 14th in the table. Most recently, GWD narrowly lost 29:30 at home to Großwallstadt.

Dessau-Rosslauer HV 06 - EHV Aue | 11/29/2023
Basement duel in the Central German derby: DRHV, who are second last in the table, face EHV Aue, who are bottom of the table. At the same time, the worst defense meets the second-worst offense in the league. Dessau has picked up three more points than Aue so far but are currently winless in four games - EHV have been winless in two.

Eulen Ludwigshafen - HC Elbflorenz 2006 | 11/29/2023
After a good start to the season, the Owls were actually able to bounce back after a series of defeats in October. However, they lost their last game against mid-table rivals Essen. The result in the table: 10th place and 12:14 points. After a disappointing previous season, in which the HC finished in 16th place, the team from Dresden is really mixing it at the top this season: 16:10 points mean sixth place.
